Dinah and I had a chance to visit the restoration workshop this past weekend. How beautiful it is just to sit together and hear some solid teaching, listen to some of the foundations we believe in our head and put some of that stuff to practice, like worshiping, confessing, receiving His love, meditating on who He is and how He views us. I don't know how many books I've (started to..) read on prayer, but actually try to quiet your soul and doing it - different story! And then Kris had to jump on it in his sermon this morning - there is nothing that can replace carving out time for personal interaction with Jesus on a day to day basis.
The greatest temptation in my Christian walk has been to stay busy and religious, shutting God out of my life by doing stuff for Him. A bit over four years ago I took steps away from ministry knowing that I would burn out in a matter of time. I longed to belong, to be called by Him vs. being driven by things to do for Him.
Well, this workshop will be another milestone in my walk with God. By His grace I let Him soften my heart and call me back home.
